We begin our itinerary in Marmaris, a major tourist destination located in southwestern Turkey, in the province of Muğla. The town has two main marinas and several smaller ones, making it one of the most popular Turkish towns for gulet charters.
Until a few decades ago, Marmaris was a small fishing village, but today it is a thriving tourist hub, perfect for a leisurely stroll along the waterfront lined with bars and restaurants. Alternatively, guests can enjoy the vibrant Turkish nightlife, whether sipping a drink on a terrace or watching belly dance and traditional Turkish folk performances. Close to the harbour, there is also a covered bazaar area worth visiting for those interested in shopping.
Embarkation takes place at 4:00 PM on Saturday. Once on board, the crew will welcome you, and the captain will go over the route. Guests may choose to spend the night in Marmaris or set sail in the afternoon to enjoy dinner and overnight in a nearby bay.
The name means “Sand Bay”, and it truly lives up to its name with one of the largest stretches of beach on the peninsula. Even in the height of summer, there is always plenty of space on the shore. The waters are clean and clear, with a turquoise hue that perfectly reflects the beauty of these coasts, inviting a refreshing swim.
At lunchtime, guests will enjoy a delicious meal prepared by our onboard chef.
Let’s not forget that Turkish cuisine, like Chinese or French cuisine, is considered one of the most important and celebrated in the world!
This area is considered one of the most beautiful stretches of the Turkish coast.
Even after three days of sailing, the landscape of crystal-clear waters and dense forests of pine and olive trees reaching down to the sea will leave you in awe.
Pure beauty!
Located just 12 kilometres from Dalaman Airport, Sarsala Cove is now one of the most popular stopovers for boats cruising this part of the Turkish coast, known as the Blue Cruise.
As with the rest of the cruise, you will find very clean waters, perfect for a relaxing swim or water sports such as paddleboarding, diving, or water skiing.
A tip: don’t miss the opportunity to climb to the top of the cove for a truly spectacular panoramic view.
After four days of calm and relaxation exploring the coast, guests can enjoy a stroll through the lively streets of Göcek, located at the northern end of the Fethiye Gulf and just 30 kilometres from Dalaman Airport. Legend has it that it was in Göcek where Icarus fell into the sea after his famous flight trying to escape the tower where he was imprisoned.
Once a small fishing village, Göcek is now a modern marina town, offering excellent restaurants and bars where guests can savour traditional Turkish dishes or enjoy an afternoon tea served with pastries or cookies, delighting any lover of fine cuisine.
On the return journey, we will anchor in Ekincik, a popular stop for all boats sailing from Marmaris to Göcek or Fethiye. Nearby is the Dalyan River estuary, a natural channel connecting the sea to Köyceğiz Lake, which can be explored by boat to visit the ruins of Caunos, including the important Lycian rock tombs, the ancient theatre, and other prehistoric remains.
Along the channel, you will find tombs carved into the rock. A must-see!
After breakfast, we will sail towards Kadırga Bay, stopping along the way for a swim. Most likely, we will spend the last night at anchor near Paradise Island, or, if guests prefer, in Marmaris Harbour.
After seven days of an idyllic gulet cruise, sailing between caves and bays and enjoying the beauty of nature, we return to Marmaris, a town offering luxury resorts, stunning beaches, relaxing spots, and plenty to see, such as the medieval fortress or nearby Asartepe Hill. Disembarkation is at 9:00 AM, although after such an experience, seven days may feel all too short!
At Bestgulet, we are very familiar with the gulets we offer. We have been onboard, we know the owner, the captain, and we have tried their delicious menus, which sets us apart from most companies offering gulets online. This aspect is crucial when recommending a gulet, as depending on your budget and preferences, we will always suggest the best option and guarantee your choice.
Additionally, we offer you our network of partners in Turkey, Croatia, Italy... who will be happy to assist you once you arrive at the destination.
